Excursion to Skiathos

Excursion to Skiathos

Our destination, Skiathos, is one of the dreamiest and most verdant Greek islands, its lush landscape owed to the evergreen trees that flourish there. But what really gives Skiathos its great dynamic personality is its awesome coastline. There are more than 60 awe-inspiring beaches, all with golden sands and crystalline waters. This beautiful landscape truly stands out as one of the jewels of the Aegean.
Our second destination is the Koukounaries beach, where we break for swimming. It’s one of the best beaches in the Mediterranean and is also known by the name of “Golden Sands”, as its sand is very fine and almost seems to glow under sunlight.
The beach is next to the wetland of the protected Strofylia lagoon, where one can find a specially adapted habitat for the animals.

Our schedule for the Skiathos excursion:

08:30 Begin boarding.

09:00 Departure from the scenic ports of Amaliapoli or Achilleio.

During our departure from port, we are inside the Pagasitic bay and are able to discern southeast Pilio, with the famous village of Trikeri and the fishing village Agia Kuriaki.

11:00 Arrival at the isle of Skiathos.

Here, you have free time to roam the narrow streets of the island and around the heart of the island, where one can find the Folklore Museum and the home of the famous author and novelist, Alexander Papadiamantis. It’s worth your time to visit Bourtzi, the old keep, today the Naval Museum, as well as the old primary school which now operates as a Cultural Centre. At the summit of the isle, one can find the Church of Agios Nikolaos, with its panoramic view of the island. On the island, you can also enjoy the local food at the various taverns dotted about the ports.
